Manchester United have been alerted to the fact that Toni Kroos could look to leave Bayern Munich in order to earn more money, according to the Mirror.

The paper, citing German source Bild, claims that the midfielder is annoyed by the fact that he is paid less than half of some of his teammates, and could significantly improve his pay packet were he to move abroad.

According to a list which details Bayern’s highest earners, Kroos takes home £3.6million a year. Not bad at all, all things considered, but it does pale in comparison to the likes of Franck Ribery and new boy Mario Gotze, both of whom earn £9million annually.

In fact Kroos finds himself behind 14 other stars on the books with the reigning European champions, including bit-part players Daniel van Buyten and Javi Martinez.

With the host of top clubs vying for his services including United, who reportedly have as much as £200million to spend in the summer, Kroos will know that he won’t be short of lucrative financial offers were he to seek a Bayern exit.

Whether or not money is enough to steer him away from the Allianz Arena we are likely to see at the end of the season.
