After losing to The Undertaker in back-to-back WrestleMania events, with the second loss sending The Heartbreak Kid into retirement, Shawn Michaels has had sporadic appearances on Monday Night Raw.
Shawn Michaels lost to The Undertaker in a ‘Streak vs. Career’ match and Michaels has not been competing inside the ring since. He has however made a handful of appearances on Monday Night Raw and is also seen on various pre-show panels before certain pay-per-views begin.
But Shawn Michaels did play a big part in The Authority – Daniel Bryan storyline a number of months ago, hitting a Sweet Chin Music on Daniel Bryan which meant Randy Orton pinned Bryan to capture the Championship. After this a match between Michaels and his protégé was heavily touted to happen, and Michaels would also want that if the opportunity came by.
WWE have now dipped into the podcast business after the shows, hosted by Stone Cold Steve Austin and Chris Jericho, have been so successful.
And host Renee Young asked Michaels who he would face from the current roster at WrestleMania if the opportunity came by.
Michaels said: “That’s an easy one for me, it would have to be Daniel Bryan. I’d throw in any of The SHIELD members. I think those boys are talented. Throw in Ziggler in there, throw in Damien Sandow, I think Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family are really good.
"There are a number of guys put in the right positions that you could tear the house down with. And at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about, it’s going out there and having a whale of a time making people yell.”
There is no denying that the fans would want to see the master take on his protégé at WrestleMania, it would certainly top the potential Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan match at this year’s event, but out of respect for The Undertaker; Shawn Michaels should stay out of the ring.
