Chelsea vs Galatasaray

Football News

First leg: February 26 at Türk Telekom Arena

Second leg: March 18 at Stamford Bridge

This tie could be much closer than many think. Galatasaray beat Juventus in a straight shootout for a place in the last 16, with a last minute goal from Wesley Sneijder ensuring they enter into the knockout stages with confidence.

It's evident that Chelsea have star players all over the pitch to cause problems, especially with the progression of Eden Hazard and Willian, it could be a very one sided tie. However, Galatasaray have an impressive collection of experienced internationals who could turn a game in a split of a second.

Experienced midfielder, Felipe Melo, could dominate the likes of Ramires and Nemanja Matic if given the chance, and with Didier Drogba and Sneijder using their know-how to get around this fragile Chelsea side, it could lead to an interesting cup tie.

Galatasaray's stadium will prove to be a stern test for this young Chelsea side, in such a hostile atmosphere, and if they're able to weather the storm, they should see the tie out at Stamford Bridge in the return leg.

Prediction: 3-2 to Chelsea on aggregate
