University of Alabama running back Dee Hart was arrested on Sunday evening, charged with giving false information and possession of marijuana, reports Tuscaloosa News

Hart was booked into Tuscaloosa County Jail at 9:30pm last night and was released just under an hour later on a $1,300 bond.

Both charges made against Hart are misdemeanours and according to TN, state law defines second-degree marijuana possession as an amount considered for personal use.

Hart, who's real first name is Demetrius, notched up 78 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries last season as a sophomore for the Crimson Tide. He has 166 total yards on 43 career rushes as a member of Nick Saban's side.

Hart won the Hall Trophy for the best High School football player in the nation in 2010 and was regarded as a five-star recruit by, who ranked him as the best back in the nation in 2011 recruiting class and the 19th best player overall in the nation.

This is the second arrest of a player on the Alabama football team in less than a month. On January 19th, cornerback Tony Brown was arrested just weeks after moving to the campus.

Brown, another five star prospect, was charged with resisting arrest and failure to obey after threatening Tuscaloosa police officers and refusing to obey their orders.
