The Milwaukee Buck's Greek rookie, Giannis Antetokounmpo, lists Kevin Durant as one of his basketball idols - speaking recently of his admiration for the OKC man.

And now Durant has returned the favor.

Speaking during the All-Star weekend just gone, the Thunder player had nothing but praise for the man affectionately known as 'The Greek Freak':

"He plays hard. You gotta respect a guy like that. He's going to be really good," he told a reporter from NBA Greece.

And when asked about comparisons that have arisen concerning the two players recently (mostly because of their similar looks), Durant actually thought the rookie was ahead of him in one area:

"We do look alike...but he's more athletic that I am so he has me there.

"His overall skills are definitely going to grow, just from the experience and the opportunity so I am looking forward to seeing him grow," explained Durant.

Antetokounmpo has enjoyed a fairly successful start to his NBA career since arriving from Europe. He is averaging 24.1 minutes per game and is currently ranked number six in the rookie ladder after being drafted 15th by the Bucks.

And one his defining moments came against Durant, blocking 'the Servant' in their matchup in November. Perhaps the reason why KD sees him as a great defender of the future.

While he remains far from the finished article, Antetokounmpo will be delighted to hear such praise from his idol, and certainly has the potential to have a big future of his own in the league.
