An Arsenal victory at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening will serve as something of a blow to Bayern Munich’s hopes of defending their Champions League league title, but it would be a catastrophe for one football fan in particular.

Such is the nature of Twitter any threat or promise is made in the public domain as user @tayyib_choas can now testify, having caused something of a stir with a pledge made regarding said last 16 encounter.

Here is what @tayyib_choas tweeted with regards to the first leg between Arsenal and Bayern Munich…

“I will cut off my balls if Arsenal beat Bayern Munich tomorrow.”

This could prove to be a costly tweet indeed, and is a perfect example of the perils of making ill-advised statements on Twitter when football is concerned.

Bayern are favourites to triumph over Arsenal given their imperious form this season, with Arsene Wenger’s ranked outsides at 4/1 to secure the win at their own ground.

@tayyib_choas may, then, find that his never regions emerge unscathed from the first leg in north London, although some Arsenal fans may savour the taste of victory even more if they can overcome the Bundesliga champions.
