Dutch giants PSV have confirmed that Arsene Wenger is interested in bringing in highly-rated starlet Zakaria Bakkali this summer, through an unnamed source.

According to the Metro a source at PSV told the Dutch media that the Arsenal boss holds Bakkali in high regard and is ready to move for him at the end of this season. The winger made history in the Eredivisie earlier on this season by becoming the youngster player to ever bag a hat-trick, and as such has found himself on the radar of a number of clubs.

Rumour has it though that Wenger is retaining the strongest interest in the 18-year-old and is keen to beat rivals to his signature.

“Bakkali is a player that Wenger rates highly,” the source reportedly said

“Arsenal have kept an eye on him and are aware that other teams want him, so could move in the summer to buy him.”

Bakkali has been compared to Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez before, and the Spanish champions have also found themselves credited with an interest in him.

It’s likely Arsenal will face competition for his signature, but with Wenger’s track record of developing young talent they could be considered favourites.
