The UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey believes CM Punk should return to the WWE and take on wrestling legend Triple H.

As reported by wrestlinginc.com, Rousey has insisted that Punk still has a lot to offer the wrestling industry.

Punk last featured in the ring for the company at the Royal Rumble last month and there have been suggestions that Punk's WWE career is over.

However, Rousey has admitted that she was gutted to hear about Punk's departure and is desperate to see him make a return.

She said: "I was really bummed when I heard he was leaving wrestling. I would love for him to come back and have a big showdown with Triple H."

Despite wanting to see Punk make a return to the WWE, Rousey has admitted that she can understand why the superstar has become frustrated and it would be interesting to see him compete in the MMA.

She continued by saying: "It would definitely be interesting [to see him compete in MMA]; I've just been following his storyline and career in wrestling for so long that I feel like there's so much more he could do. But I also understand him being frustrated and fed up."

It remains to be seen as to whether Punk will ever star in the WWE again, but for now his immediate future is far from certain.
