Arsenal fans would have been hurting last night after they were defeated 2-0 by Bayern Munich - but their day must have got even worse when they checked their Twitter timelines.

Pep Guardiola's side are clear favourites to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League as they defeated Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

Goals from Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller ensured the Bundesliga outfit moved a step closer to becoming the first team to win the Champions League in successive seasons.

Arsenal have the artillery to stage a comeback at the Allianz Arena, however Bayern Munich seem to think the tie is already over.

After landing back in Germany, the club released a tweet in which they admitted they are confident of reaching this year's Champions League final.

Bayern Munich tweeted: "Amazing match with good result!

"Sorry Gunners that we won. We're on the way to Lisbon 😄 ^ #AFCFCB."

Their tweet will have spiced things up for the second leg which takes place at the Allianz Arena on March 11.
