Cleveland Browns wide receiver Davone Bess continues to face an uncertain future in the NFL after several misdemeanours last season.

Bess had a bizarre 2013 that ended up with him checking himself into a medical treatment facility.

The wide-out say the incidents all conspired due to a mix "betrayal and mistrust" that went about ruining his life.

Bess admits he is working through the problems that plagued his life, and led his arrest

He says he hasn't spoken with the Browns, but he's excited about the 2014 NFL season.

Speaking to The Plain Dealer, he said, "I haven't talked to the Browns [front office], and I don't know how they feel about me," said Bess.

"I see they made changes, and change is often good. I did have communication with [offensive coordinator] Kyle Shanahan. He sent out a group message [to the offensive players] and I replied … I'm looking forward to the season and getting better on and off the field."

Bess caught 42 passes for 362 yards and two touchdowns last season.

He's struggled in his first season with the Browns due to the expectations of him becoming a veteran receiver that the team could depend upon.

As a result the 28-year-old has a less than certain future in a Browns jersey.

Last season there were Twitter pictures of Bess with what appeared to be weed, a naked pic of Bess, and an arrest on multiple charges after an incident at an airport.

Bess defended himself by saying.

"I was in a point of my life where there was a lot of betrayal and mistrust and I didn't know how to handle it," Bess said. "So I went and got some help. I went through the process and learned it's OK to express my feelings but I have to do it in a positive way."
