Chelsea: Predicted lineup v Everton

Chelsea suffered an immensely frustrating 2-0 defeat to Manchester City last Saturday that saw their hopes of winning the FA Cup come to an abrupt fifth-round halt.

While losing by such a margin to a team that can boast as much quality as the Citizens is certainly no disgrace, it would have come as such a disappointment due to the fact that Jose Mourinho's men totally dismantled City during a truly dominant Premier League victory just a couple of weeks previously.

Chelsea, who hold a slender one-point advantage at the top of the Premier League ahead of London rivals Arsenal, will be hoping to suitably bounce back from this result when the league comes back into focus this weekend.

Saturday's visitors to Stamford Bridge are Everton - the team who inflicted the first defeat of Jose Mourinho's second reign as Chelsea boss in the corresponding fixture back in the summer.

Roberto Martinez has been very successful since succeeding David Moyes at Goodison Park, with the Toffees drawing a number of plaudits for the free-flowing performances that have led to them occupying sixth place in the Premier League table.

In terms of team news for the hosts, long-serving captain John Terry is expected to return for Chelsea and go straight back into the starting lineup. This would presumably be at the expense of David Luiz, with the Brazilian suffering from a groin muscle injury.

Given that the last Chelsea side selected was for the cup, the prospective starting XI for this weekend's clash is somewhat difficult to predict.

We also, of course, have to factor in that Chelsea play the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie against Turkish champions Galatasaray next week.

However, that is not until Wednesday so it would perhaps be foolish to assume that will have too much bearing on Mourinho's selection.

Chelsea predicted lineup to face Everton on Saturday:

Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Matic, Ramires; Willian, Hazard, Oscar; Eto'o.
