Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney put pen to paper on a blockbuster new five-year contract with the reigning Premier League champions last night, confirming his status as one of the division's marquee players.

Rooney's contract is reportedly worth a whopping £300,000-a-week for the next half-a-decade, but where does that leave the rest of the Premier League's star names in terms of possessing a pay packet to match their prowess on the pitch?
