World XI: Summer transfer hits (3)

DF: Daniel Carvajal

Football News

22-year-old Carvajal failed to make his mark at Real Madrid during his first spell at the Santiago Bernabeu and was shipped out to Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen in July 2012.

However, Real, ever the canny operators in the transfer market, were smart enough to include a buy-back option in that particular deal - one they were quick to enforce last summer after the young Spaniard enjoyed a tremendous campaign

Back in familiar surroundings, Carvajal has excelled on the right-hand side of Carlo Ancelotti's backline this season and is surely a safe bet to win full international honours for his native Spain very soon.
