WWE Hall-of-Famer Jim 'JR' Ross has admitted that he was 'scared' after Mankind's incredible fall during his iconic 'Hell in a Cell' match against the Undertaker.

The match, which took place almost 16 years ago at King of the Ring, is arguably one of the most infamous in professional wrestling history - renowned for the sheer brutality of the occasion - something summed up by Taker hurling his opponent through a table from atop of the cell.

Despite Ross - who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007 - calling countless WWE bouts in his time, that match came to define his career in many ways due to the fact that it is still repeated now, with Ross' commentary from that fateful night frequently dubbed over videos of more modern events.

During a recent interview with Fox Sports podcast 'The Buzz', 'JR' recalled that particular event and admitted that he was genuinely scared in the aftermath of what appeared such a vicious and painful fall.

"I think people think the only call I ever made was 15 years ago in that Hell in the Cell match, but there were others," he said.

"I was scared. I thought it was impossible for anybody to survive that fall."

Ross, who is no longer involved with the WWE and is much-missed by fans of the sport, also claimed that he would love to call another big match involving the Phenom.

He added: "I would love to call a match at WrestleMania. If I was being greedy, I'd love to call anything the Undertaker does at WrestleMania until he's no longer doing it.

"But without sounding overly pessimistic, I just don't see that happening. I hope I'm wrong. I'm ready to go do it. But I do think somewhere along the way, I'm gonna broadcast something."

The Undertaker, whose 21-0 record at the WWE's showpiece event has become the stuff of revered legend in the sports world, will be competing to extend that streak at Wrestlemania XXX in April as he takes on Brock Lesnar.
