Cleveland Browns want to draft Derek Carr

The Cleveland Browns are desperate for help at the quarterback position after both Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell failed to impress last season. Reports have circulated today that the Browns would like to select an unlikely candidate. report that the Browns like Derek Carr from Fresno State which differs from reports before the hiring of GM, Ray Farmar which indicated they were impressed by Johnny Manziel.

NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah said: "Their guy is Derek Carr and they're going to take a different player with the fourth pick and they want to take Derek Carr with their second one (at No. 26). ... I heard that from several different places."

Carr had not been previously thought of as a first round selection with Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater and Blake Bortles considered the premiere quarterbacks in the draft which the Browns would consider.

However now it appears that Carr, who is the brother of former number one pick David, is a favorite for the newly formed Browns front office.

Carr threw for 5,082 yards in his senior season for the Bulldogs with 50 touchdowns and just eight interceptions.
