Chicago based band, Plain White T's have been confirmed as performers for the Stadium Series game at Soldier Field in March.

The band, known for hits such as 'Hey There Delilah' and 'Hate' will perform prior to the outdoors game and also during the first intermission. Jim Cornelison will sing the national anthem as usual.

The game will be contested between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Blackhawks and is the fourth outdoors game to take place this season.

Because of the winter Olympics in Sochi during this season, the NHL have cancelled the traditional All-Star break and will instead host five games in NFL and baseball stadiums,

Games have already taken place in New York, Los Angeles and Michigan.

The game will take place on the 1st March and will be broadcast nationally on NBC.

Both the Penguins and Blackhawks resumed league play this week after a number of players travelled to Russia for the games.

Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby and Chicago's Patrick Sharp both represented Canada and took home the team's second gold in as many Olympic games.
