Arsenal remain intent on bringing Real Sociedad star Antoine Griezmann to the Emirates this summer, despite the fact that they face competition from some of Europe’s top clubs, according to sources in France.

French newspaper Le 10 Sport, citing Sport in Spain, claims that Arsene Wenger remains keen on the young La Liga star even though the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have all muscled their way into the picture.

Interest in the 22-year-old from Arsenal’s perspective has been high for some time now, although the rumours had begun to surface that the lack of movement from the north London club in recent weeks was a sign that they were considering other options.

However Le 10 speculates that Wenger remains intent on targeting Griezmann with this summer in mind. The Frenchman’s performances for Sociedad this term have been nothing short of sensational and the £25million buyout clause embedded in his contract may well appeal to the Gunners.

It's thought that the acquisition of a new striker will be the first port of call for Arsenal in the summer, but the purchase of a rising talent like Griezmann would likely go down well with the fans.
