Football News

Ryan Vinz lived every fans dream on Friday night as he was named backup goalie for the Buffalo Sabres despite not actually being a professional hockey player.

Vinz was told he may be needed to kit up for the team which is exactly what happened as he took up a place on the bench during the Sabres 4-2 victory against the San Jose Sharks.

On a day when the Buffalo Sabres made a huge trade in which they both lost and received a goalie, they were forced to name the former video scout on the bench as second choice.

Vinz never got on the ice unfortunately but was euphoric in his post game interview claiming that just sitting on the bench was a good enough experience.

Twitter exploded when the news was announced, many people pleaded for the Sabres to start him and other saw it the best of a bad situation after losing their number one keeper.

It was like a scene from a movie when the news began to filter through and surely something we will never see again... maybe.
