Kate Upton has, for once, been upstaged in the swimsuit modelling stakes after she was pictured alongside Bryan Holaday with the Detroit Lions catcher wearing a revealing item of beach apparel of his own.

Upton was once again the star of the latest version of the famed Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, released last week, having previously been on the cover for the 2012 and 2013 editions of the magazine.

But, on this occasion, she was dressed in far more demure fashion whole posing with Holaday, who stole the limelight with is stars and stripes inspired number. Holaday’s look was completed by a tiny pink party hat, delicately balanced on his head.

Tigers pitcher Joba Chamberlain shared the image of the poolside fun, although Holaday will probably wish that his teammate had kept it away from social media. Also tagged into his tweet were Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander, who has been romantically linked with Upton.
