The New York Knicks travel to The Palace of Auburn Hills to face the Detroit Pistons later tonight.

Mike Woodson knows his side are in severe danger of missing out on a spot in the playoffs as the New York Knicks have continued to struggle for form this season.

The Madison Square Garden-based side have lost their last six games - with the Knicks' last victory coming against the Orlando Magic on February 21.

The Detroit Pistons, who are also looking to make a late surge for a place in the playoffs, have lost their last four games.

Their last win also came on February 21 when they defeated the Atlanta Hawks 115-107.

Carmelo Anthony will be hoping to have a far larger impact on tonight's game than he did against the Chicago Bulls, as the New York Knicks superstar was held to a below season average of 21 points.

J.R. Smith, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Amar'e Stoudemire all impressed after coming off the bench on Friday so could push for a start.

Tonight's game in Michigan is sure to be a tasty affair as both sides are in need of a win if they are to have any aspirations of competing for the NBA Championship.
