Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc wants to keep Edinson Cavani past this summer’s transfer window, and will attempt to convince him to stay at the Parc des Princes, according to sources in France.
French newspaper Le 10 Sport, citing L’Equipe, claims that PSG will pamper Cavani in order to ensure that he does not depart at the end of the season, as many reports have suggested he will.
Recent rumours have played strongly on the fact that the Uruguayan could make a big money move to one of European football’s biggest clubs, with Manchester United being mentioned with a particularly strong link.
Having only signed for the French champions last summer, it’s been speculated that PSG would be content to allow Cavani to leave the club if an offer of around £55million was submitted.
There’s also been talk of the striker being unhappy because he’s been forced out wide to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing in the lone forward’s berth.
However if Le 10 are to be believed then far from seeking to get money from the transfer of Cavani, Blanc is determined to do everything he can to retain his services.
