New York Knicks star, Carmelo Anthony has reached out to congratulate LeBron James after his magnificent 61-point scoring display last night.

Anthony tweeted: "Congrats to my brotha kingjames on his 61. #InTheZone." The tweet was accompanied by a picture of James celebrating after the game with his traditional jersey number '6' turned into a '61'.

James set the personal record of 61 against the Charlotte Bobcats last night and scored 25 third-quarter points on his way to the record breaking number.

Anthony had scored 62 points earlier this season in a victory against the same opposition.

The two players entered the league in the same draft, with James selected first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers and Anthony selected third by the Denver Nuggets.

James joined the Miami Heat in free-agency during the 2010 offseason whilst Anthony was traded to the Knicks in February 2011.

Both players have represented the United States at the last three Olympic tournaments in Athens, Beijing and London.
