7. Garrincha

It’s a travesty that Garrincha, the remarkably gifted winger who played an instrumental role in Brazil’s triumphant World Cup campaigns of 1958 and 1962, is not widely remembered as one of the finest players of all time.

Ask any Brazilian about Garrincha, though, and they will be all too keen to educate you about arguably the best ever player to emerge from Brazil.

Garrincha, who sadly died in 1983 and the age of 49, was the master of the dribble - and enjoyed humiliating opponents even more than scoring!
