Chelsea star speaks up after Paris Saint-Germain interest

Chelsea star Branislav Ivanovic has played down talk of leaving the club this summer, following reports that Paris Saint-Germain are weighing up an end of season move, according to Sky Sports.

Rumours surfaced only two days ago that the Serbian had been targeted by Laurent Blanc as one of his priority summer additions, and naturally Blues fans began to worry that they would lose one of their key men to the lure of a mega-money contract in Ligue 1.

However Ivanovic has immediately moved to seemingly quell transfer speculation, insisting that he is happier at Stamford Bridge than he has ever been.

“I can say this is the happiest I have been at Chelsea because, at the moment, the team is doing well and things are going right for us," said Ivanovic.

“We have improved as a team since the beginning of the season, it looks like we are a very strong team but we have the potential to make and build an amazing team."

Ivanovic has remained a senior figure within the Chelsea squad this season, and it’s believed that Mourinho would be loathe to let him go for any price.

Despite having Cesar Azpilicueta waiting in the wings for the right-back position, it’s unlikely anyone at Stamford Bridge will be willing to play ball in terms of negotiating with PSG over Ivanovic’s transfer, but nonetheless his situation will be watched with growing interest.
