It was only last year that Tom Cleverley was celebrating a Premier League title with Manchester United.

Now, the 24-year-old midfielder is the subject of sever criticism from fans all around the country.

Just last week, a petition was created calling for the Red Devils midfielder to be banned from the World Cup finals. Meanwhile, last night England fans booed Cleverley's name as it was read out at Wembley.

And now, talkSPORT have created a petition of their own. They've put together a slightly alternative petition and suggested that Cleverley should become Manchester United's next captain.

With Nemanja Vidic leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season, David Moyes will be on the lookout to appoint a new skipper, so just maybe Cleverley is that man...
