With the start of the MLB season only two weeks away in Sydney, Austrailia, a lot of eyes are looking at the new and the old.

in a preseason game that almost didn't happen thanks to mother natures rain, we got our chance to see a fairly powerful NY Yankees team in action against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The old in this case being Derek Jeter. The retiring veteran Short stop is going out on his own terms but was unable to score, only getting one hit.

The new however is new big money pitcher Masahiro Tanaka. He was relieved in the fifth innings and only gave up one run. But it appeared to be a promising look for Tanaka in his second start in Yankees colours.

NY did come back to win the game 4-3 thanks to a late innings run but the slugger from Freddy Galvis out of the grounds is the first home run that Tanaka has given up since being in the US.
