Top 10: Biggest shocks of the season (10)

Emmanuel Adebayor

Football News

Few players pose such a head-scratching conundrum as Adebayor. The Tottenham striker, well known to Premier League fans for previous eventful spells at Arsenal and Manchester City, was nowhere to be seen earlier this season - excluded by former manager Andre Villas-Boas and looking like he was surely destined to depart White Hart Lane.

However, since the Portuguese was sacked and replaced by the unlikely figure of Tim Sherwood, Adebayor has been a striker re-born and has notched goals aplenty as Spurs seek to recover from a dreadful start.

Whether this is a simple flash in the pan or a long-term return to form remains to be seen.
