Arsenal's striker refusal

Football News

Given that Arsenal have just romped past Everton to book their place in the FA Cup semi-finals following a hugely entertaining encounter at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon, these words may seem a tad hollow and unconvincing.

However, we remain shocked that Arsenal neglected to bolster their attacking unit with the signing of a new striker in the January transfer window.

Prior to today, Olivier Giroud was clearly struggling to rediscover his impressive early season form whilst doubts remain over the future of Nicklas Bendtner and Lukas Podolski.

Yaya Sanogo looks talented but cannot yet be relied upon to produce on a regular basis and it was painfully clear that Arsene Wenger needed to address this issue.
