Manchester United are set to show their rivals they still have the ability to lure the best young talent to the club by swooping to sign 16-year-old Swiss starlet Dimitri Oberlin Mfomo, reports the Sunday People

The FC Zurich youngster has been tracked by a host of Europe's top clubs after impressing in Switzerland.

The starlet is a relatively unknown prospect, but with his current deal at Zurich set to end, it would seem David Moyes has benchmarked the midfielder as a future star, and can bring the Swiss under-17 international to Old Trafford for a small compensation fee.

United have used youth in their side this season - bringing through the highly rated Adnan Januzaj into the first-team squad and making him into a regular starter in the Premier League.

And with the new rules coming into place, it is a chance for United to produce another home-grown player into their ranks by bringing him through their youth education system.
