Barcelona are set for a summer squad change as they prepare for a new era without the departing veterans Carlos Puyol and Victor Valdes.

Puyol and Valdes will leave the Nou Camp in the summer after making over 800 combined appearances for the Catalan side.

And now sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has admitted the the Barca squad will need more than a 'tweak' in the summer to replace the duo, and that a new goalkeeper has already been lined up.

Speaking to Catalunya Radio, he said "We knew that Victor Valdes wasn't going to stay, now we know that Carlos Puyol isn't going to either."

"They have been two obvious references in our squad. Just taking these two players into account, I would say that it's already now more than the tweaks we had envisaged."

"I already know the name of the goalkeeper who is going to replace Valdes and he's practically already signed.

"We just have to give it a little more time, before we make the announcement."

Napoli's on-loan Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has been heavily linked with a return to his former side Barca, but no official comment has been made from either side.

Barcelona have been able to deal with the loss of Puyol from their defence for sometime now, due to the centre-backs recent persistent injury troubles. With the likes of Gerard Pique proving to have the quality to replace him at the heart of the back-line.
