Spanish playmaker sent off for shocking horror tackle

Spanish midfielder given his marching orders.

Maccabi Haifa midfielder Ruben Rayos was sent off during his side's clash with Bnei Yehuda this weekend after committing - and we don't feel we are exaggerating here - one of the worst 'tackles' you will ever see.

The Spanish playmaker, who joined Haifa last summer, will surely face a retrospective ban after launching into a disgusted two-footed challenge on Rafi Dahan with just seven minutes of the match remaining.

Such a menacing act - which left a clearly distressed Dahan in a crumpled heap on the turf - unsurprisingly caused outrage on the pitch and on the benches, with a minor scuffle breaking out and the player deservedly shown an immediate red card.

And to make matters so much worse, 10-man Haifa - who were 2-1 down at the time of the sending off - scored an equaliser in the 96th minute.

Ouch indeed.
