Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Jah Reid was arrested on Sunday after being involved in a fight outside a Florida strip club.
According to the Baltimore Sun, Reid has been charged on two misdemeanour battery counts in relation to the incident.
Reports suggest that the player and an acquaintance became aggressive toward a Edmond Mussa after the man had allegedly bumped into Reid.
CCTV security footage allegedly shows the Ravens man head-butting and punching Mussa before kicking the individual on the ground.
The fight drew the attention of a security guard who, it is alleged, was punched by Reid after attempting to break up the altercation.
Neither Reid or his acquaintance, Benjamin Buxton, were held Sunday night after receiving their charges but the Ravens have acknowledged they are aware of the incident:
"We have learned of the situation and are gathering information," said director of public relations Chad Steele.
But the incident is hardly good news for the franchise especially in light of Ray Rice's recent assault charges.
Reid has appeared 35 times for the Ravens over the past three seasons but is not a starter for the team and has struggled for minutes recently.
Heading into his final year of his rookie contract it remains to be seen whether his future with the team will come to an end after this incident.
A simple battery charge carries a maximum of one year in prison and a fine of $1000 in the state of Florida.
