The Jayru Campbell bodyslam saga lives on and it took another turn Monday when the Cass Tech quarterback pleaded not guilty to assault charges.

Back in January, the Michigan State commit quarterback had an altercation with a security guard at his high school, before he subsequently bodyslammed him in front of fellow pupils and staff.

Not only was were the scenes caught first hand by school authorities, footage of the incident went viral for all to see across the globe.

All of this led to an arrest and a subsequent investigation.

Since then Campbell has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with intent to do great bodily harm against the 23-year-old guard that he injured.

Jayru has pleaded not guilty this week to those charges, with another hearing set for Friday.

Campbell is currently out of custody thanks to a bond, as he stays in the comfort of his own home aided by friends and family.
