Colin Kaepernick attempted to show just how hard he is working during the offseason yesterday as he took to social media to post pictures of himself in the gym.

But it looks like all that hard work was too much for the San Francisco 49ers quarterback as today Twitter was awash with pictures of the player hanging out with college students during Spring Break.

Numerous photos have emerged showing Kaepernick at South Beach, Florida, and the presence of the NFL star went down well with the excitable school-goers:

"I JUST MET COLIN KAEPERNICK!!!! Ahhh #myquarterback," was the message attached to one such photo.

Kaepernick's season came to an end last year with defeat against eventual Super Bowl winners the Seattle Seahawks in the playoffs.

Since then he has vowed to return stronger in his third year in the league.

But he has also drawn criticism due to his reportedly high contract demands. The pictures of him hanging out with college kids might not go down well with 49ers fan who would rather see their man working hard to earn his new deal.

But then again, with the NFL season still months away, surely everyone is allowed some off time at some point.
