CM Punk has been in the news a lot lately as his continued absence from the WWE scene causes a stir.

And now, MMA legend and former WWF star, Ken Shamrock has laid into the wrestler calling him a spoilt brat for walking away from the organization when he didn't get what he asked for.

Shamrock is a Hall-of-Famer in the UFC after finishing with 28 wins in 45 bouts and with rumors that Punk could swap the wrestling ring for the Octogon he had some harsh words for the WWE man:

"Who is CM punk? What did he do before a wrestler?

"Was he a high school wrestler? Was he a college wrestler? He was never in the Olympic trials, he didn't capture any state titles so he's an average wrestler," said Shamrock.

He did advise that should Punk be serious about a move to UFC then he first has to spend some serious time at the grassroots of the sport rather than jumping straight into the cage at the top level.

"I think it's a mistake. He has such a name in wrestling.

"His mind is clouded and he's got the spoilt brat syndrome," explained Shamrock.

Tough words from Shamrock indeed who saw no way for CM Punk to be successful in MMA.

Shamrock, who made a brief foray into wrestling in the late '90s, also spoke of his desire to return to the organization, but warned that at present Triple H is standing in his path.

The future of CM Punk meanwhile? That is still anybody's guess as the WWE organization remains quiet on the subject.
