Dallas Cowboys chasing Peppers as Ware replacement

The Dallas Cowboys parted ways with DaMarcus Ware recently and are now on the search for a new pass rusher.

One name that has been linked to the franchise is free agent, and former Chicago Bear, Julius Peppers.

According to ESPN reporter Todd Archer, 'America's Team' has an interest in Peppers at this stage of free agency.

The eight-time Pro Bowler was cut by the Bears last week due to his $13.9 base salary and Archer believes that the player could be attracted to the team due to his connection with defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli.

Marinelli previously fulfilled the same role in Chicago where he worked with Peppers for three seasons - three seasons which saw Peppers rack up 30.5 sacks.

Whether this is just putting two and two together remains to be seen, but the Cowboys could do a lot worse than reforming this partnership.

At 34, Peppers is coming toward the end of his pro career but he has not missed a game since 2007.

In 2013 he completed 35 tackles, and seven sacks.
