WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather has shown off his remarkable jump rope skills while filming a commercial ahead of his title unification fight against Marcos Maidana in Las Vegas on May 3.

The pound-for-pound king turned 37 last month; however, the American boxer proved that he’s still fast as lightning when it comes to skipping rope.

What makes the two-minute clip all the more impressive is the fact that Mayweather is simply being filmed for additional behind-the-scenes footage - this part wasn’t actually for the upcoming commercial, which will promote his next fight against WBA welterweight champion Maidana.

However, seeing Mayweather in such good shape does little to suggest that Argentina’s Maidana stands a realistic chance of beating the undefeated champ at the MGM Grand in two months’ time.

Mayweather is the overwhelming favourites to retain his title at his favourite venue - with most leading bookmakers making him as short as 1/16 to beat his next opponent in front of an expectant home crowd.
