The UEFA Champions League is the most prestigious trophy in European club football and some of the greatest names to have played the game have lifted the trophy at some point.

Football is a team game though, so there have not only been the greats of the game to have got their hands on the famous cup. The best players need strong supporting casts to provide the foundations from which they can produce brilliance, so many less glamorous players have also deserved their medals.

However, there are been some really quite ordinary players to have managed to get their hands on one of those most prized assets in European football. GMS know that it takes all sorts to make up a squad, but some names you look back on and think 'How?'.

So, in true internet style, we have gone through the winning squads from the past few years and picked out a starting XI of players that really must still be pinching themselves. Now, before the fury is unleashed, we're not saying they are all terrible players, just that they are probably the least prestigious names to have won the title.
