Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a deal for Keylor Navas as they look to provide greater competition for current number one Simon Mignolet.

According to the Daily Star, Brendan Rodgers is keen to recruit the Costa Rica International and that the Anfield club have already made an enquiry to his club. The report claims Liverpool will only have to bid as high as £8million as that will activate a buyout clause in his contract.

Liverpool's current number one is Simon Mignolet and has been impressive since he was brought in from Sunderland to replace Pepe Reina. The Spaniard had looked secure as first choice for the Reds for many years, but Rodgers took the decision to send him on loan to Napoli.

Navas has impressed for La Liga side Levante this season and will have further chance to impress at the World Cup this summer in Brazil. The 27-year-old will likely be turning out for Costa Rica and will be doing all he can to thwart England's stars.

Liverpool stars Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson are all expected to be on the plane to Brazil, so they will get a first-hand look at what the shot-stopper can do.
