Dwayne Johnson set to replace Arnie in Terminator 5?

Dwayne Johnson could be in line to takeover one of the most famous movie roles of all-time, as sources in the U.S claim he’s being considered to replace Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 5.

A number of different websites speculate that Johnson, most notable for his time as The Rock in the WWE, is wanted to take Schwarzenegger’s place as the iconic cyborg, as he looks to move away from the wrestling scene once and for all.

It’s believed that Schwarzenegger will retain some role in the film, titled Terminator; Genesis, but that the part of the machine assassin-turned famous protagonist could go to Johnson. Though still involved with the WWE to some extent, it’s thought that the 41-year-old is keen to move further into film, and is unlikely to be involved in this year’s Wrestlemania as a result.

Johnson will already hit the big screens as Hercules this year in Hercules: The Thracian Wars, which could well push him further into Hollywood.
