Is Mike Woodson living in his own little dreamland?

The New York Knicks are not a good team. This is a fact.

The perennial playoff contenders look like missing out on the post-season for the first time since the 2009-10 season, could drive star player Carmelo Anthony out in free agency, and have just hired Phil Jackson for some divine intervention.

But coach Mike Woodson still believes that he doesn't have anything to prove as the head coach of the Knicks and that his job is secure.

In reality neither of these are that true.

"I don't think I need to prove anything as a coach. I've never felt that way. I try to do my job the best I can do, and if you're gonna judge me on 16 games, then that's on you," Woodson said before the Knicks game with Milwaukee on Sunday.

The Knicks beat the Bucks putting their current winning streak at six games, making their current record a still-not-at-all-respectable 27-40.

Is Woodson safe? Not one iota.

There is report after report that the 55-year old is set for the sack in The Big Apple, with guys like Steve Kerr already reportedly being lined up to fill the role that could become soon to be vacated by its current incumbent.

In a perfect world head coaches would get as much time as they need to turn things around. Unfortunately with the nature of fans and being in a media heavy metropolis like New York it just isn't possible and Woodson is going to be under fire for his role in this under-performing team.

So Mike, if you don't want people to judge you on the last 16 games of the season then that's fine. They shall judge you on the previous 66, and that's even worse.
