Inter Milan are stepping up their chase to sign Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna and Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra with director of football Piero Ausilio due to arrive in England on Tuesday for talks with the Premier League pair.

Sport Witness reports how the Serie 'A' giants are eager to strengthen their squad in the summer, by bringing a number of high-profile signings to San Siro, predominantly on cut-price deals.

Having already secured the free transfer signature of Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic, Inter are planning to return to Old Trafford in an attempt to snare the Serbian stopper's team-mate, with Evra out of contract at the end of the season and unlikely to receive a new deal from Red Devils boss David Moyes.

Fellow Frenchman Sagna is in a similar situation to Evra, in the sense that his deal is also set to expire at Arsenal, however Arsene Wenger is eager to keep the defender at the Emirates Stadium.

That is unlikely to deter Inter in their pursuit of the Gunners contract-rebel though, with Italian publication Calciomercato suggesting that Ausilio is travelling to England with real intent, and has set his sights on a number of prospective transfer targets in addition to the aforementioned Manchester United and Arsenal stars.
