Football News

Oakland Raiders have captured decided to wisely utilize some of their free cap space to sign wide-receiver James Jones, with the New York Jets missing out on one of their prized targets.

Jones signed to a three-year contract this afternoon after spending seven years with the Green Bay Packers but was not retained and opted to move on to the silver and black.

There numerous teams interested in Jones, including the Jets and Carolina Panthers, but Jones wanted to find the right situation which he has found in Oakland.

Jones struggled with consistency during his first two seasons in the league, with a lot of drops – but seemingly turned the corner during the past few seasons

The addition of Jones makes him the best wide receiver on the Oakland roster and should help their offense moving forward, though we still don’t know who’ll be the quarterback for the Raiders.

Financial terms of the deal have yet to be released to the press.
