Chelsea centre-back David Luiz is odds-on to join Barcelona after ending his stay at Stamford Bridge.

Brazilian defender Luiz, who moved to Chelsea as part of the deal that saw Nemanja Matic join Benfica in 2011, has been stringently linked with a move to Barcelona since Jose Mourinho sealed a return to west London.

Luiz has found games hard to come by this season as Mourinho has instead chosen to partner John Terry with Gary Cahill.

Mourinho has used Luiz in midfield on some occasions but appearances in midfield for the Brazilian international have been limited since Matic rejoined Chelsea in January.

Barcelona will be in the market for a new centre-back in the summer due to Carles Puyol’s decision to end his 19-year affiliation with the Catalan giants.

Luiz would be seen as an ideal replacement for the outgoing Puyol as Barcelona admire centre-backs that are comfortable on the ball.

Barcelona would have to fork out around £25million on Luiz if they are to have any chance of enticing Chelsea into selling the cultured defender.

Stan James believe Barcelona have a good chance of signing Luiz - do you?
