Real Madrid players are desperate to go up against Chelsea in the last eight of the Champions League, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

Both teams breezed through to the quarter-final stage with wins against Schalke and Galatasaray last night.

Ahead of the draw for the last eight on Friday, El Mundo Deportivo are reporting that a 'majority' of Real Madrid players are hoping to be drawn against Chelsea in order to get one over on former boss Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho headed to Stamford Bridge last summer after three years at the Bernabeu.

Although he helped Real Madrid snatch back the league title from Barcelona in 2012, Mourinho's time in Spain was dominated by rumours of unrest and arguments with his players.

He left after defeat in the Copa del Rey final against rivals Atletico Madrid last season - and recently aimed a sly dig at Real Madrid players for 'queuing to look in the mirror' before games.

So far this season Mourinho has helped Chelsea to the top of the Premier League table, although they stumbled to a 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa over the weekend.
