England stars pick Mike Brown as Six Nations superstar

England full-back Mike Brown deserves to be named Six Nations player of the tournament when the official announcement is made this Friday, according to a large share of his international team-mates.

Brown has enjoyed a fantastic campaign from a personal point of view, proving a focal part of an England side which showed progression and came agonisingly close to Six Nations glory thanks to four successive wins.

The 28-year-old was joint top try scorer with Jonathan Sexton after a brace against Italy last weekend, which his England colleagues believe helped him stand out as the best player in this season's competition.

Retiring Ireland legend Brian O'Driscoll is favourite to win the vote after ending his international career in fairytale style with Six Nations glory in Paris last weekend, but Brown has beaten more defenders, gained more metres and achieved more clean breaks than any other player in the tournament this year.

Captain Chris Robshaw, Courtney Lawes and Harlequins team-mate Danny Care all have Brown the nod, although the flier is rather more modest and chose an Ireland star has his pick of the championship.

Find out who in the video at the top of the page, with the announcement less than 48 hours away.
