Tottenham consider move for Dutch goalkeeper

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on highly-rated FC Dordrecht goalkeeper Warner Hahn ahead of a proposed transfer in the summer.

According to the London Evening Standard, the Holland U21 international has been impressing in the Dutch second tier, and could be rewarded with a lucrative move to the Premier League.

Spurs are currently well stocked in the goalkeeping department with Hugo Lloris, Brad Friedel and Heurelho Gomes. But, with the Brazilian stopper out of contract in the summer and the 42-year-old American expected to retire, there could be an opening for a new custodian to challenge the France international for the number one spot at White Hart Lane.

Tim Sherwood - who was appointed as head coach on an 18 month contract following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas in December - is by no means certain to be in charge at Tottenham next season, so the alleged scouting of Hahn is likely to stem from director of football Franco Baldini.

The 21-year-old has shown plenty of promise in the early stages of his career, and might have the chance to test himself in England's top-flight by moving to north London when the transfer window reopens this summer.
