It’s a rare occurrence when there’s only one club chasing after a highly-rated talent. In fact it’s so rare that the amount of players attracting interest from only one suitor can probably be counted on one hand.

Regardless, it’s good news for neutral fans as they get to see transfer tussles take place almost religiously every time the transfer window opens it’s doors. Guess what? This summer looks set to be no different.

With the mainstream press and foreign papers each adding new names onto the transfer conveyer belt on a daily basis, there’s plenty of players who are supposedly set to be the object of bidding wars at this season’s end. With the 2013/14 campaign turning onto the home straight there’s no better time to discuss the excitement which is bound to unfold.

Here we highlight ten of the biggest head to head transfer battles which are primed to unfold before and after this year’s World Cup.
