Patrice Evra could well become the next first-team star to secure a move away from Manchester United in the coming days, as reports claim he is on the verge of agreeing a deal with Inter Milan.

According to the Metro, the sporting director at Inter, Piero Ausilio, has made contact with the French full-back concerning a possible transfer in the summer. Of course club captain Nemanja Vidic has already pledged his future to the Serie A giants, and so Evra may be inclined to follow in his footsteps.

Rumours speculating that this season would be the 32-year-old’s last at Old Trafford have been rife since the very beginning of the campaign. David Moyes is said to be keen on recruiting a new left-back, and a host of clubs have been linked with taking Evra - who is out of contract this summer - away as a result.

The player himself actively looked to quell talk over his own future prior to United’s victory over Olympiacos in the Champions League last night, but fresh reports claim he is on the verge of signing a deal with Inter.

The Italian giants new owner, the mega-rich Erick Thohir, is said to be undertaking a mass revamp of the squad at the San Siro, and so Evra’s arrival will likely fall in line with his plans.
