Miami Dolphins are on the verge of signing Knowshon Moreno with the news that he will be meeting with the AFC East side Friday.

Former team the Denver Broncos let Moreno hit free agency this month after the running back helped them to the Super Bowl with a solid season on the field.

Moreno rushed for 1,038 yards for the Broncos in the 2013 season, but it's understood that Denver would not have been willing to increase his minimal contract.

The tailback has spent five seasons in the NFL with Denver, but he believes moving to pastures new will help his career and his pay packet.

Miami desperately need some help in their backfield, with only Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller currently on the roster.

Whether the move is sewn up soon remains to be seen, but the meeting is likely to be confirmed tomorrow, with the Dolphins reluctant to talk until the meeting is done.

Miami Herald columnist Armando Salguero posted on Twitter today, "The Dolphins expect RB Knowshon Moreno to come in for a visit Friday.

"Dolphins don't announce visits until they are complete so team will not confirm."
